Apple Releases iOS 6.0.1 Update to Improve Wi-Fi and Fix Keyboard Glitch
Today, Apple released iOS 6.0.1 update to its mobile operating system which targets to fix some bugs and make some minor improvements.
So, what are those bug fixes and minor changes?
Below listed are the contents of this iOS 6.0.1 update:
- Fixes a bug that prevents iPhone 5 from installing software updates wirelessly over the air
- Fixes a bug where horizontal lines may be displayed across the keyboard
- Fixes an issue that could cause camera flash to not go off
- Improves reliability of iPhone 5 and iPod touch (5th generation) when connected to encrypted WPA2 Wi-Fi networks
- Resolves an issue that prevents iPhone from using the cellular network in some instances
- Consolidated the Use Cellular Data switch for iTunes Match
- Fixes a Passcode Lock bug which sometimes allowed access to Passbook pass details from lock screen
- Fixes a bug affecting Exchange meetings
iOS 6.0.1 is more of a bug fix and maintenance release and there is no new feature included in the package.
As you might already know, starting iOS 5, you can now update your iOS over the air using Wi-Fi. So, if you are on iOS 5 or higher, you can simply go to Settings > General > Software Update and click on “Download and Install”
As OTA wireless updates allow delta changes to be applied rather than downloding the whole operating system, iOS 6.0.1 is around onnly 50 MB (depending on the device you downloading it for).
