OS X Mavericks Available for Free Starting Today

A few minutes ago, Tim Cook kicked off the 22 October Apple event where Apple is expected to refresh the Macbook Pro line and reveal the retina display iPad Mini and a thinner iPad 5.

If you have been following the news about Mac OS upgrade when Apple announced it first at WWDC 2013, you won’t be surprised to know that Apple today announced it to be available to the public from today.

One thing which you wouldn’t have expected is regarding the price for the upgrade – much to my surprise, OS X is available for FREE!

OS X Mavericks

As per the Apple tradition, Tim Cook started the session with some of the stats and right after that Craig Federighi took over the stage and demoed the features of the new upgrade for their Mac OS.

Last year, Apple released OS X Lion version of the OS for which it charged $19.99 to upgrade. But this year, the latest version Mac OS X Mavericks is available as a free download from the Mac App Store.

So, all the Macbook users get downloading and enjoy the new Apple operating system OS X Mavericks.
